Patrik spent most of his time growing up playing basketball. He decided to pursue exercise and rehabilitation sciences after he overcame multiple injuries and limiting conditions, and after he discovered his ability and passion in helping others in similar situations.
Patrik is a graduate student at the University of British Columbia where he holds a Bachelor degree in Kinesiology. He is further studying topics in clinical kinesiology and high performance coaching. He holds two volunteer roles with the UBC Thunderbirds Sports & Medicine Team, one as a Strength and Conditioning Student Assistant and the other as a Student Athletic Trainer with the men’s rugby team. In his free time, Patrik enjoys outdoor activities, especially watersports, snow sports, biking, and hiking. In the gym he trains Olympic weightlifting and has an interest in martial arts.
Patrik’s training philosophy is based on his personal experience and evidence-based practices. He believes that we need to take good care of our bodies to be able to live a long and healthy life, and that we need to explore our physical potential to be able to keep up with anything that comes our way. He uses a holistic approach considering biological, psychological, and social factors in designing interventions. His personal experience with these 'bio-psycho-social' issues, and working with a variety of populations and conditions gives him a stable foundation in his role at Symmetrix.
