Jack has always loved being active. In fact, his parents have told him that his first and favourite toy as a toddler was a soccer ball, and that he could be seen kicking and chasing it almost as soon as he learned to walk. But it wasn't until his early twenties that he began to consider a career in health and fitness. He had a year of culinary school and 5 years in the restaurant industry behind him when he decided to make this transition. Jack refocused and got his personal training certification, started working with clients, and then decided to go back to school to do his Kinesiology degree.
After graduating from University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Kinesiology he now has over 2000 hours of experience in 1-on-1 and 2-on-1 personal training. He sees the focus of his job as helping people overcome barriers to exercise and allowing them to develop the motivation, confidence and physical function to make a lifelong habit out of physical activity. His area of expertise is working with clients new to exercise looking to improve their fitness in areas like cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, and body composition.
When not working with clients, you can find him running at Jericho beach, lifting weights in the gym, or trying out new recipes at home.
